In gear acceleration feels livelier than the 0-60mph time suggests, and despite a hint of clatter on start up it revs smoothly and theres a pleasing warble from the single exhaust once its warmed through. The steering feels light but with surprising amounts of feedback for a car of this size, while the notchy gearshift is unmistakably a Mazda. A five per cent increase in torsional rigidity plus a new set of dampers give the CX-7 nimbleness in the bends, although the ride can feel a little harsh at times. But its an acceptable trade off given that cabin noise is so low something Mazda has worked hard on improving with this car. When it comes to trim levels and engine choices Mazda are keeping things simple with the CX-7. The turbo unit has been ditched altogether for the UK leaving the excellent diesel as your only option, while the fully laden Sport Tech-spec is all thats on offer, too. Silnik pracuje cicho, łańcuch nie rzęźi. Samochód ma oprócz tego problem z grzałką Ad-Blue (otwarty obwód) ale to chyba osobny temat. Any gasoline engine can be converted as all the engines in the past 10 years have engine computers that will advance the engine timing to take advantage of higher octane fuels. Propane has an ultrahigh octane of 105 ( R + M ) and the knock sensor on the engine will not detect any detonation until the engine computer advances the timing to the true, but misleading. A stock engine computer and valvetrain components have a finite upper limit of their timing strategies. The engine is usually at maximum advance and is making maximum power on the fuel it is designed for (either 87 or 91 octane). The engine has the ability to retard the timing and reduce power when the knock sensors sense detonation (because of lower octane, etc.), but not to advance timing beyond this upper limit. In other words, under normal atmospheric conditions, you cannot get additional HP by running 150 octane fuel. The engine has no idea what the fuel octane is, only whether there is detonation or not. And it will advance the ignition only to its physical limits, which is set at its design octane I think putting compressed flammable gas into mainstream private vehicles is an asinine proposition. Compared to liquid fuels, the hardware and space required to store compressed gas is inferior. But if you want a clever solution (not the only one, but an easier one than compressed gas), look at running used vegetable oil in your diesel engine. Aż do ostatniej (dziesiątej) próby, kiedy hamulce CX-7 w końcu opadły z sił i pomiar wyniósł 41,5 m. Szkoda, bo do znakomitego wyniku niewiele brakowało. Świetną trakcję zapewnia napęd na cztery koła, z rodzaju automatycznie dołączanych. Standardowo cała siła napędowa jest przekazywana na przód, ale w razie czego do tylnych kół może trafić 50 procent momentu obrotowego (dawkuje go sprzęgło mechaniczno-hydrauliczne, znajdujące się między wałem napędowym a tylnym mostem). Układ działa szybko, a wybitnie asfaltowy tygrys Mazdy kiedy trzeba ma pazury u wszystkich łap. CX-7 jest zwinny, "nos" auta chętnie zmienia kierunek jazdy, wrażenie w zasadzie nie różni się od jazdy zwykłym samochodem. Na łagodnie krętej drodze CX-7 jest bardzo pewny siebie, szybkie łuki nie robią na nim wrażenia, w ciasnych skrętach - jeśli tylko nie przesadzisz i nie wywołasz podsterowności - Mazda okaże się zwinna i nawet przy mocnym gazie wyjedzie z zakrętu jak po sznurku. Sztywne tłumienie zawsze oznacza jakąś utratę komfortu, i tu też jest ona wyczuwalna, ale kompromis jest jak najbardziej do przyjęcia. Ogólne wrażenie - naprawdę niezłe; pod względem właściwości jezdnych, od ważącego prawie 1800 kilogramów i podniesionego do wysokości 1,65 metra pojazdu trudno wymagać więcej. A więc wygląda atrakcyjnie, jest dynamiczny, praktyczny, dosyć wygodny i ogólnie w porządku. Ale z tym silnikiem CX-7 będzie w najlepszym wypadku kroplą w morzu SUV-ów.
